“Out to Sea” is a 36 in x 36 in acrylic on paper, mounted on cradled birch panel, ready to be hung. Small bits of collage add texture and depth while representing traces of our habitation. This work expresses a conversation between the tropical environment, the sea, and humans who live on and off the land. We leave traces of ourselves, some of which are washed out to sea and some remain imbedded in the land, forever changing both. This piece won 2nd place at the November, 2023 Venice Art Center juried exhibition.
